InsCorp is the
result of a consolidation of two old, large and highly respected South
Texas insurance firms, Insurance Associates, Inc. and Ward-Jackson,
Inc. Ward-Jackson dates back to 1882 and prides itself in having
pioneered the Mexican Tourist Auto Insurance industry, when John Ward
and Arturo Woodrow of Seguros La Provincial sat down over a bottle of
tequila at the renowned Cadillac Bar in Nuevo Laredo and designed the
first policy.
Since joining forces in 1985, our organization has evolved into a $
38,000,000 multiline, independently owned insurance organization which
numbers many banks, oil operators, “maquiladoras”,
importers/exporters, merchants and industrial concerns among its
favored clientele. InsCorp represents many of the leading insurance
organizations in the industry including Allstate, AIG, Chubb,
Hartford, Republic, Safeco, Travelers/St. Paul, Union Standard, Zurich, Mass
Mutual, Assurant Health, Principal, and
Blue Cross/Blue Shield, among others. Our specialty is property,
casualty, life and health insurance for the small to medium sized risk
on both sides of the Mexican border, and our production mix is
approximately 80% Commercial and 20% Personal Lines.
The Border area is highly susceptible to wild fluctuations in the
Mexican economy, owing to massive trade relations with that country. A
well kept secret about our fair city is that it ranks as the leading
inland port in the United
States. Having learned our lesson
from several severe currency devaluations, we have finally begun to
diversify our economy via the Border Industrialization,
“Maquiladora” Program.
This program along Mexico’s
northern border paved the way for the development of an activity which has
evolved into one of Mexico’s
three most important sources of foreign income. For the United States
it has become the best alternative for the final assembly of products
at a low cost, enabling our industries to remain competitive in the
world market. Several Fortune 500 companies have located in our area
and the future looks very bright for many more, particularly in light
of the North American Free Trade Agreement.
The “Maquiladora” industry demands products and services
which are uniquely designed to suit its multinational character. This
is exactly what InsCorp has been doing for over 100 hears - providing
insurance protection to people, business and industry on both sides of
the Rio Grande River.
Moreover, InsCorp in particular is in a very advantageous position due
to our many strong affiliations with Mexico, both in the
business sector as well as among our peers in the insurance industry.
Inasmuch as we have a healthy respect for their insurance laws, we
encourage and enjoy correspondent relationships with many of the major
independent Mexican brokers/companies, and this philosophy has served
us well. Our counterparts throughout the Republic of Mexico
bring a wealth of talent & experience to our consortium, which is
unparalleled in the border area. As a result, some of the leading
industrial organizations in Mexico are satisfied
customers of InsCorp.
Further strengthening our stature in the border area, InsCorp enjoys an
Exclusive Association Agreement with Texas International Insurance
Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Laredo National Bank. All
business generated by this relationship is managed by InsCorp and is
genuine affirmation of the confidence placed in us by the bank as well
as its customers. In addition, we have recently joined forces with
several affinity groups, including truckers and freight forwarders to
provide insurance services at a very affordable cost to its members.
It is our goal to be a major player in our industry, especially as it
relates to international trade and commerce, and to continue providing
a service that is second to none. We hope you too will become a valued
InsCorp customer.
